September 3, 2014 - EXTRAORDINARY PARTNERSHIPS MUST BE MADE WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR – “PARTNERSHIPS THE KEY TO ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT”, ECHOED UN SECRETARY GENERAL, BAN KI MOON AT THE PRIVATE SECTOR PARTNERSHIPS FORUM (PSPF).

Digicel Chairman, Denis O’Brien co-chaired with the Prime Minister of Samoa, the high level dialogue of the first ever private sector meeting of this magnitude preceding the UN SIDS Conference in Samoa.  Ban Ki Moon proudly quoted Digicel’s theme slogan “Extraordinary Partnerships” as most relevant to the forum and critical to economic and social development of the island nations.  Attended by over 400 participants from over 90 countries around the world, the event succeeded in its goals to provide a platform where sustainable partnerships in civil society, governments, regional and international organizations and agencies; and especially the private sector were forged.
