May 15, 2014 - DIGICEL PNG CONDUCTS OPEN BUSINESS FORUM

The country's leading communications solution provider Digicel PNG is gaining new heights to engage more with its customers, particularly the business community.

Digicel Business organised a customer breakfast forum for Port Moresby based business houses on Tuesday (yesterday) to give an overview of Digicel's core business in communications.

The aim of the breakfast was to openly communicate with the customer, reiterate Digicel's commitment to Papua New Guinea to date and its continued growth and expansion going forward. It was also an opportunity to introduce the Digicel Business team, namely the GSM and ICT Corporate Account Managers.

The forum gave the opportunity for business houses to openly speak about the challenges faced and what Digicel needs to improve in areas that are of particular concern to business partners.

The Digicel Business team also gave an overview of the provisions of GSM services under its ICT to 80 business houses that attended the forum.

Digicel's Head of Business Sales and Services, Kevin Woolmer said it was all about interacting with customers and reflecting on what Digicel has done since its establishment in July 2007.

"No company in PNG has ever invited its customers to an open forum to ask questions, however challenging they may be. This is open and effective communication and a great way of both engaging with our customer and hearing the customer feedback. As a business we strive every day to improve both internally and the customer experience."

"We value customer engagement to continue effective communication where possible," Woolmer further reiterated.

He said since Digicel's inception in 2007, investment in 2G and 3G broadband networks have been established and additional 3G towers and over 300 2G towers will be erected across the country this year.

Woolmer also added that by the end of July Port Moresby will have added to its current 4G|LTE network, and further extending the service to the industrial capital, Lae.

GSM Business Accounts Manager Peta Kanawi added that the forum was all about providing an avenue for innovative service for the business community.

Digicel's ICT Key Account Manager David Sherry also added that ICT is about partnership with customers, saying: "We will work closely with them on how best we can address the many problems they have in our line of business."

Digicel PNG will hold similar business breakfast forums in Lae later this month and Mt Hagen in June, which will then continue on a quarterly basis in each region.
